| The West Country town of Newton Abbot, so often associated with the start of the National Hunt season, has had 2 greyhound tracks in the past, the first of which was located on the Recreation Ground and situated at 3° 36' W 50° 31' N. The independently run track first opened in 1929, running sprints over 250 yards and standard races over 450 yards. |
